LSWG Announces Promotions

Linton Shafer Warfield & Garrett, P.A., (LSWG) certified public accountants, recently announced the promotion of three staff members.

David A. Laramore, CPA, has been promoted to manager at LSWG.  Mr. Laramore joined LSWG in 2009 and has been a practicing CPA for close to 25 years.  He specializes in tax planning and preparation for individuals, corporations, and nonprofits, and has extensive experience working with entrepreneurs and closely-held businesses.  Originally from Annapolis, where he was a graduate of Annapolis High School, Mr. Laramore earned his B.S. in accounting from Shepherd College in 1989.  He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Maryland Association of CPAs.  A 2002 graduate of Leadership Frederick County, Mr. Laramore serves as treasurer of the Thurmont Little League, Vice President of Babe Ruth Baseball, manages youth sports, and is an active volunteer with the Brookhill United Methodist Church finance committee and youth group.  Mr. Laramore resides in Thurmont with his wife, Ellen, and their three children:  Joshua, Peyton, and Madigan.

Lisa A. Frushour, CPA, has also been promoted to supervisor.  Ms. Frushour has been with LSWG over nine years providing accounting, tax, and audit support for nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and closely-held businesses.  A QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Ms. Frushour specializes in guiding clients through the intricacies of the software and utilizing it to optimize results.  She is a summa cum laude graduate of Frederick Community College and Frostburg State University, having earned associate’s degrees in accounting and business management in 2000 and 2003, respectively, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2003.  She is also the recipient of the 2003 Frederick County Chamber of Commerce “Academic Excellence in the Business Career Curriculum” award.   She serves as treasurer of the United Way of Frederick County, and she and husband, Doug, are active supporters of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, having raised over $60,000 for the cause over the past 11 years.

Ashley Tolbert has been promoted to Staff Accountant II.  Ms. Tolbert joined the tax and audit department of LSWG’s Rockville office in 2008 after having interned at the LSWG Annapolis office and Arrow Bookkeeping, in Silver Spring, while attending Bowie State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2008.  A Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor, Ms. Tolbert assists with audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements, and corporate and individual tax returns.  She is a member of the Bowie State Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants and the Maryland Association of CPAs.  While at Bowie State she was a member of the university’s dance team, and now serves as coach of Northwestern High School’s dance team.  Originally from Goldsborough, North Carolina, Ms. Tolbert currently resides in Landover.
